Bayonne – A couple of iron workers were hurt after a large watertight chamber rolled into them in Bayonne last Friday before noon.
According to authorities the two men got injured when the caisson, a large watertight chamber which construction workers use when doing their job underwater, rolled into them at Pulaski Street and Route 440 last January 15, at around 11:20 in the morning.
One of the workers, a 36-year-old man from Scranton, Pa., suffered a laceration on his arm, while his co-worker a 37-year-old man from Franklin sustained leg injuries. Both were rushed to the Bayonne Medical Center where they will be treated for their injuries.
Authorities are still trying to determine the cause of the incident and did not name the company where the two workers are connected. Police did not disclose the names of the two workers.
